Epiphyllum, Hibiscuses, Roses, Alstroemerias, Iochromas, Daisies, and California Poppies

I have waited about 4 years for the epiphyllum flower to bloom from a cutting and it has finally bloomed! I am so excited when I saw the flower open a few days ago!!!

I am so fascinated by this flower because they are huge with very vibrant colors. One single flower is usually about 5-7 inches wide. I love the pink and the dark shade of pink together. This cutting was part of a mix so I had no idea what color I would be getting.  There are other epiphyllums in this mix but I am still waiting for them to bloom. For now, let’s enjoy this beauty and the bunches of flowers in this post.

HIBISCUSES

ROSES

CALIFORNIA POPPIES

ALSTROEMERIAS

IOCHROMAS

GERBERA DAISIES

That’s all the flowers for today.

  1. Several of your beautiful flowers I don’t have growing in my garden currently. I never have planted alstroemerias but I really want to. They are so lovely, and I used to care for some orange or apricot colored ones on the church property. Those came to the parish in two large pots, donated by a “flower lady,” and were used to decorate the church for a feast day and beyond. When they faded it was my job to transplant them into the church garden, where they never did thrive.

        1. It shouldn’t be a problem with poor soil. They are really tough drought tolerant plants. My soil are not good either, mostly claylike and I rarely fertilize them. If you really like them, you should grow them again, or try in pots. I don’t think they like frost.
